To each of us our concept of Freedom is different and we each have our unique set of bars and perimeters that prevent us from experiencing our true nature and freedom to live our lives as we were meant to.
For many of us we do not realise that we are being held captive by our own belief systems and our limited understanding of what is actually possible. I have been very blessed in many ways throughout my life but I did not realise that I was still being my own gaoler, that my beliefs were creating bars and walls to prevent me from moving through life with ease and grace. Through working with some wonderful teachers both human and animal I have begun to realise and experience living in a whole new way. I am delighted that I have the opportunity to share with you both the HelioSol Technique and AgapeMind; two courses that meld together to give you the tools to change your perspective and experience the world from a place of love, compassion, understanding and non-judgement. www.slievenamonholistictherapy/courses For Freedom - John O'Donohue As a bird soars high In the free holding of the wind, Clear of the certainty of the ground, Opening the imagination of wings Into the grace of emptiness To fulfil new voyagings, May your life awaken To the call of its freedom As the ocean absolves itself Of the expectation of land, Approaching only In the form of waves That fill and pleat and fall With such gradual elegance As to make of the limit A sonorous threshold Whose music echoes back along The give and strain of memory, Thus may your heart know the patience That can draw infinity from limitation As the embrace of the earth Welcomes what we call death, Taking deep into itself The tight solitude of a seed, Allowing it time To shed the grip of former form And give way to a deeper generosity That will one day send it forth, A tree into springtime, May all that holds you Fall from its hungry ledge Into the fecund surge of your heart. In whatever field one works in there is a fine line between helping and hindering a client, whatever species they happen to be and whatever the modality may be. As therapists we also have the same obligations to ‘do no harm’. This is not always an easy distinction to make - when to stop and say enough is enough. It is easy to call when you are whipping cream, you can see when to stop as the cream starts to turn to butter. It is visual and so many of us now only rely on our visual sense that we forget to trust the gut instinct, ending up over egging the pudding as it were so that there is no space for healing to occur. We also have to remember that we are not actually ‘doing’ anything just allowing the client to create within themselves the optimum environment for healing themselves. How we achieve that is down to each in their own way but one must always be aware that we cannot heal anything, we are just there to help the client. That help may be practical, providing food and water, a place of safety; it may be emotional support or the environment where the client can express and release all the built up stress and tension held in the body; it may also be providing a quiet observation of the situation so that the elements that are required to heal are slotted into place. To keep the cooking analogy going, our job is to put out all the ingredients that may be required to bake a cake, the tins, the utensils that will be needed but then we hand it all over to the chef/baker (client) to do the creating; how it turns out is none of our concern but we are there to help not hinder. It is a hazard that is easy to get caught up in ‘ the need to DO something’ sometimes doing nothing is a greatest gift that we can give. Other times the ego demands that we do something as the ego forgets that whatever technique we use it is down to the client to heal themselves. I have seen Drs and vets inject joints to relive pain, it works for a short period of time or may have a long term effect, in my opinion it is not the Dr, the vet or the drug per se, it is the time that the affected area requires to heal itself once it is given a helping hand to get over the initial issue - if the client is in the environment to heal then they will, however this in not always the case due to the fact that the ‘environment’ of the body may be compromised, the living conditions may not be suitable, the mental/emotional issues at that time may not be conducive to healing. By always being there for a client we may also be hindering their recovery as they become reliant on us ‘healing’ them not being fully aware that we are just there to help and it is down to them to heal themselves, there is no silver bullet. By doing sessions on demand we are are not respecting their space or respecting ourselves, sometimes stepping back and giving them the time and space that they need is the hardest thing to do especially if you have a limited book of clients. At the end of the day though by acting with respect and integrity saying ‘enough is enough’ their body may get the opportunity to do what it needs to do. We just have to learn to remove ourselves from the equation - it was never our issue to begin with and there is no reason why we need to have ownership of the outcome. When we observe this from the philosophical perspective it is a case of Wu Wei - without doing, causing, or making ie letting things happen with no egotistical effort or input; we let the body work with its own inner wisdom, the natural order of things and since the natural world does not make mistakes, whatever is meant to unfold will unfold in its own perfect time. Working with the HelioSol System is a wonderful new modality that melds wonderfully with the BioGeometry tools and techniques that I have used for the last number of years. I look forward to being able to continue my work as a BioGeometry Environmental Home Solutions practitioner when the current restrictions are lifted, until then please do no hesitate to contact me for advice / to book an appointment. https://www.facebook.com/heliosolsys/posts/255866592487009?comment_id=255897872483881¬if_id=1588695794767932¬if_t=comment_mention At the time of an event it can be challenging to move through it - for me it has been having to say goodbye to Bree, to that part of my life, that chapter. Life keeps going and I know that there will be other horses, other days, new adventures.
Bree was part of the 'old' cycle and getting me where I needed to be, guess he knows more than I do as I am not quite sure where I am or where I am going. It feels a little like you have had a navigator for a trip or a friend to walk with you but about 100yards from your destination they say ' just down there, you can't miss it, first on the right, this is where I stop'. It seems that last 100yards is the longest and hardest part of the walk and you wonder if you got it right, did you miss the spot, were you on the right path. You know what though - the place will come around again, life is a circle we keep going around and around and occasionally someone/thing from the past / future steps into our reality to assist. All my life's a circle; Sunrise and sundown; Moon rolls through the nighttime; 'Til the daybreak comes around. All my life's a circle; But I can't tell you why; Season's spinning round again; The years keep rollin' by. It seems like I've been here before; I can't remember when; But I have this funny feeling; That we'll all be together again. No straight lines make up my life; And all my roads have bends; There's no clear-cut beginnings; And so far no dead-ends. I found you a thousand times; I guess you done the same; But then we lose each other; It's like a children's game; As I find you here again; A thought runs through my mind; Our love is like a circle; Let's go 'round one more time. I found you a thousand times; I guess you done the same; But then we lose each other; It's like a children's game; Songwriters: Harry Chapin Circle lyrics © Harry Chapin Foundation 'Round like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel......'
That is how I see 'time' all things linked and interlinked although they may be separated by many years. Some of us see the years as a straight line just moving forward, for me some of the immediate is like that however, like a roll of film feeding through an old machine, the seen portions can end up in a mess on the floor so some times get connected through space. January - a strange month, one of reflection for me, waiting for the spring and Imbloc, February, Bridgid's Day. This year has been no exception several incidences connected through time and space. End of old times, start of new ones - the Druids (and JOYTISH) worked in nineteen year cycles when the lunar and solar calendar merged, also known as the Metonic Cycle. So here we have a new cycle starting as it is the first time in 19 years we have no horses on the property - how long this blip will last I am not yet sure but in the meantime taking the opportunity to reflect on the last 19 years, 17 with one horse and nearly 11 with the last, they overlapped for 9 of those and saw the arrival of the puppies in 2017. On a professional level they guided me through the introduction to this amazing work, it is seven years ago today since the accident that brought me here. I went for a walk this morning along the route that I had taken that Saturday back in 2012, when I started out it was freezing cold, threatening snow, no sane person would go for a walk on a morning like that; after I passed the site of the accident and had walked on a little the sun came out, the wind dropped, the mizzle stopped - it was like a weight had been lifted and some old ghosts put to rest, time to move forward leaving fear behind. Round like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel Never ending or beginning on an ever spinning reel Like a snowball down a mountain, or a carnival balloon Like a carousel that's turning running rings around the moon Like a clock whose hands are sweeping past the minutes of its face And the world is like an apple whirling silently in space Like the circles that you find in the windmills of your mind Like a tunnel that you follow to a tunnel of its own Down a hollow to a cavern where the sun has never shone Like a door that keeps revolving in a half forgotten dream Or the ripples from a pebble someone tosses in a stream Like a clock whose hands are sweeping past the minutes of its face And the world is like an apple whirling silently in space Like the circles that you find in the windmills of your mind Keys that jingle in your pocket, words that jangle in your head Why did summer go so quickly, was it something that you said? Lovers walking along a shore and leave their footprints in the sand Is the sound of distant drumming just the fingers of your hand? Pictures hanging in a hallway and the fragment of a song Half remembered names and faces, but to whom do they belong? When you knew that it was over you were suddenly aware That the autumn leaves were turning to the color of her hair! Like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel Never ending or beginning on an ever spinning reel As the images unwind, like the circles that you find In the windmills of your mind Songwriters: Alan Bergman / Marylin Bergman / Michel Legrand (who died at the weekend) The Windmills of Your Mind lyrics © Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC "Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time." ―John Lubbock, The Use Of Life So after what was a very busy spring here at Slievenamon Holistic Therapy we have finally had three days of peace and quiet to attempt to catch up with ourselves before the next wave of activity.
February saw Fundamentals training here, followed by SNOW... everything ground to a halt for four days as the country was blanketed by the white stuff. March - Advanced BioGeometry - this saw students having to navigate through, wind, rain and snow to get to class - everything mother nature could throw at us she did. April was a Linking Awareness Journey here - the animal inhabitants excelled themselves helping guide students to where they needed to be. May - off to the UK to facilitate a Linking Awareness Journey in Leicestershire - an amazing weekend; also the start of guests arriving here to avail of Garden Grove https://www.airbnb.ie/rooms/24556762?s=51 or www.gardengrove.ie All that hard work in January is starting to pay off slowly. So June has been a little quieter, catching up with study, clients and correspondence. July looks like being busy so taking advantage of some space now. August - time to stretch the grey cells again with practitioner training for BioGeometry before heading to UK in Sept and having another class here before the winter. Hope you have a wonderful summer - take time for yourselves, relax and enjoy the quiet moments when you can get them. Starting something new can be a daunting task and some 'gurus' suggest creating a vision board and 'manifesting' what you see the project unfolding into.
This method can have mixed results - more often as not nothing happens. You then get despondent and start to believe that you are unable to achieve anything even when you create the most imaginative and dynamic vision boards. I am speaking from experience here; two years ago I came across this phenomena through a very inspirational lady and then somehow I was being bombarded by life coaches promoting this method of moving forward. For want of something better to do I decided to give it a go, my clinic was taking time to get off the ground, I had been made redundant and I had to get things happening. Well - I visualised, and I MindScaped but still nothing was changing as far as I could tell, if anything things were slowing down. This was not part of the plan. Roll on 6 months or so and I started to work more from my heart using my Linking Awareness tools; my perspective began to alter slightly but the whole vision board thing was still bothering me. I then learnt the next step though Tosha Silver - surrender. I got it wrong for the first bit, I thought that this was a great plan, just sit back and let it all happen no vision boards just surrender and if Divine means it to happen, it will. I was still missing the point here, yes Surrender but you also have to get off your backside and DO something to get things moving. A great friend of mine called in to see me at the start of January and gave me an idea, something that I had been dead set against for the past 5 years, however this time I thought 'why not give it a go?' So, I have weeded, cleaned gutters, moved 9yrs worth of rubbish (old builders materials), whitewashed raised beds, painted doors, laid new gravel, re-hung gates, put up post and rail fencing, taken trees out, cleaned a stream out, strimmed, mown the lawn. I have had a little help for which I am very thankful but I had to get the ball rolling. So since starting this little project my clinic has got busier; international classes are filling up steadily. I am not sure where it is going to end up but it feels good to have actually got outside, got mucky and DONE something. I now have a pleasing vista out from my house and clinic if nothing else and hopefully it will be easier to keep clean and tidy. Some of my vision board has materialised, upon reflection not sure I still want some of the things I thought I did. Take a look at www.gardengrove.ie it is a work in progress :-)
This was one of the best articles that I have read in a while so feel that I have to share it here:

Please take the time to read it - it is well worth it.
For some of us the past few days over the start of 2018 have been a bit chilly and we have attempted to stay inside wrapped up and keeping warm. For others the New Year has started on a positive note for others there have been unforeseen challenges. However, the year has started for you I take this opportunity to wish you the best for 2018.
